Golden Series

The real manipulation is achieving that women, ourselves, determine what matters about us, and it happened. This series is for us women to see what we have allowed, where we have placed value in ourselves. Value on the superficial, the sexual, on how we look, on the particular, and not the whole package. Is this what matters? Women's perceptions about our own self & our bodies are manipulated and twisted.

Where is the focus placed when we talk about women? It is zoomed in, light is shined on what is "important". The world, society, the patriarchy, media, the industry are all strong influences, and they place value on the physical part of women and this influences and changes the perception we have of ourselves and our bodies.

My work is about women and for women because we have fallen into this over and over again, but we are starting to awaken from something that has been happening for centuries: too much focus is placed on our physical bodies, we have been lusted, and condemned for it, mused, objectified, assaulted, sexualized, shamed, imprisoned... it has been the ultimate medium for control.
